The College is supportive of students seeking work related experiences and offers direct paid employment and professional development opportunities through St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School.
Students may choose for example to take up jobs offered in tutoring, boarding supervision, coaching and administrative work at the school. The College also offers professional development opportunities including professional writing skills, interview and CV writing techniques, networking skills and personal presentation.
There are also roles in areas like IT support, school musical productions and event organisation and management. Private tutoring and babysitting jobs can also be sourced through the school parent body.
This year College residents have taken opportunities to work in the boarding house as Housemothers, as librarian assistants, as school sports coaches and in a wide variety of roles across all facets of the school’s business.
The focus of the “employability” component of the Student Success Program is to expose College residents to a range of skills, both personal and professional, that are needed for entering the graduate market, the workplace and life post study.
